CHINA'S record-breaking women athletes will take part in a series of lucrative events this summer, starting with the NutraSweet London Marathon in April.

After an extraordinary year of taking medals and records in 1993, the Chinese coach, Ma Junren, has turned his attention to cash and says he hopes to make dollars 1m (pounds 670,000) in prize and appearance money in Europe to help finance his team's training camp back home.

After a two-month break following the London Marathon, they will run at the Stockholm grand prix on 12 July, followed by the 'golden four' meetings in Oslo, Zurich, Brussels and Berlin. They expect to finish the season by taking part in the World Cup at Crystal Palace.

The Chinese federation could not comfirm whether the phenomenal Wang Junxia, who smashed three world records last year, would be in the team.
