Athletics: Frankie Fredericks sets new world indoor 100 metres record

Frankie Fredericks, of Namibia, set a new world indoor record of 10.05sec in the 100 metres in Tampere, Finland, last night. The former indoor mark was held by Olapade Adeniken, of Nigeria, who clocked 10.13 last year. Fredericks was the Olympic silver medalist in 100 meters in the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992.
