Basketball: Cleave leaves it late for Worthing
A three-point shot from Cleave Lewis, six seconds from time, gave Worthing Bears an 82-79 win over Thames Valley Tigers - the Bears' first Carlsberg League win this season over the First Division runners-up, writes Duncan Hooper.
Worthing, who clinched the title with victory at Leicester City Riders last Wednesday, lost both their previous league meetings with Thames Valley but still completed their First Division programme with a six-point advantage over Tigers.
The final weekend of the regular season also saw Oldham Celtics beat Guildford Kings 104-94 in overtime, pushing last season's champions back into fourth position.
In the best of three play-off quarter-finals Worthing will play Leicester, who qualified thanks to Birmingham Bullets beating Manchester Giants twice in four days. Thames Valley play Oldham, who finished seventh, while London play Derby and Guildford must face Birmingham.
