Andy Thomson yesterday retained his Churchill Insurance world indoor singles title by sweeping to a straight-sets victory over the three- times former champion, Richard Corsie, in Preston. Thomson pocketed the £26,000 first prize after requiring just one hour and 34 minutes and a total of 18 ends to complete a 7-2 7-6 7-3 win over the Scot.
