JOE BUGNER has agreed to one last fight before he finally retires. The former British and European heavyweight champion announced yesterday that he will fight the American Levi Billups on 13 June at a venue on Australia's Gold Coast tourist resort.

The 49-year-old grandfather had been hoping to end his 32-year career by defending the World Boxing Federation title he won last year but relinquished his belt when a suitable opponent could not be found.

"After 32 years I've had a great innings and while I won't get my golden handshake I'll go out with all my senses, so that's better," Bugner said.

Bugner won the WBF crown last July by beating James "Bonecrusher" Smith, who retired through injury before the start of the second round.
