Ladbrokes said the biggest bet the bookmakers took was pounds 10,000 on Tyson to knock out Holyfield in the first round at 5-1. Holyfield's 11th round stoppage of the World Boxing Association heavyweight champion ensured Ladbrokes a winning night.
A spokesman said: "All of the other favourites on 'Judgement Night' had won and we had thousands of accumulator bets with Tyson as the last leg.
"Our customers obviously thought he was a certainty at 1-20. Going into the fight we were expecting the worst, but after this result we will have made a profit."Reuse content
