Cannock can put lid on title

Cannock play their last two national league matches this weekend knowing that victories will almost certainly give them the championship because of their superior goal difference. Wins by the slenderest of margins would leave Teddington, who lead the table by three points, needing an eight- goal victory at East Grinstead tomorrow.

With both games at home and with a fit squad, Cannock look to have the advantage against Havant today and Firebrands tomorrow. Havant have never lost to Cannock in a league match, but neither had Hounslow before succumbing 3-0 last weekend. Firebrands need a win to stand any chance of avoiding relegation and must also rely on Hull gaining no more than a point at home to Bournville.

Reading are the third team with a chance of the title. Level on points with Cannock, but with an inferior goal difference, they also play twice. Today they are at home to Old Loughtonians, then they travel to Stourport.
