Canoeing: British canoeing's marathon men round the canal turn on a demanding cross-country adventure
Competitors paddle their way through a stretch of canal near Blackburn during this weekend's Trans Pennine Canoe Marathon from Leeds to Liverpool. Entrants began the 114-mile race in Leeds at 8am on Saturday with the first of the finishers, who completed the journey without stopping, arriving in Liverpool on Sunday morning.
