Allan Border, the former Australian Test captain, has delayed his retirement from first-class cricket for at least another year. He will continue to play for the Sheffield Shield champions, Queensland, in the competition next season after informing officials of his availability. Border, who turns 40 later this month, spent the close season considering his future after fulfilling an ambition to help Queensland lift the Shield title for the first time in their history.
