Cricket: England's split tour

ENGLAND are close to persuading South Africa to split the 1995-96 winter tour into two halves with a five-Test series being followed by a limited-over international competition which would serve as a warm-up for the World Cup, writes Glenn Moore.

England would pick two squads with Test players flying back after the Test matches to be replaced by one-day specialists.
