Mike Brearley, the former England captain, was back practising at Lord's yesterday as captain of the England International Cricket Masters team, a collection of over-35-year-olds who will meet their West Indian counterparts in two one-day internationals in Bridgetown, Barbados, on 30 and 31 October. Clive Lloyd leads a West Indies team including Gordon Greenidge, Andy Roberts and a real blast from the past, Charlie Griffith. England include Derek Randall, Dennis Amiss, and Derek Underwood
