Cricket: SA newcomers
AUBREY MARTYN, the Western Province left-arm seamer, tours England this summer in place of the injured Brett Schultz as one of two uncapped players in the South African squad named yesterday.
'We have had a full medical report on Schultz's knee injuries and he could have gone. But it would have been an extreme risk,' Ali Bacher, the United Cricket Board's managing director, said.
The other uncapped player is Gerhardus Liebenberg, the Orange Free State batsman who will be acting as the reserve wicketkeeper for Dave Richardson.
Daryll Cullinan, the Transvaal batsman, is given the chance to resurrect his international career. South Africa play three Tests on their first official tour here since 1965.
