Joe Leach secured a hat-trick for Worcestershire with the first three balls of their Royal London One-Day Cup match at home to Northamptonshire.

The 24-year-old bowler had the Northants opener Richard Levi caught by the wicketkeeper Ben Cox and repeated the trick to remove the No3 batsman, Rob Keogh.

Leach completed his hat-trick when Ben Duckett was caught by Jack Shantry to leave the New Road visitors stunned.

In 2003 the Sri Lanka seamer Chaminda Vaas also achieved the feat – in a World Cup match against Bangladesh.
