Round-Up: Victory in sight as Hampshire skittle out visitors

Hampshire tore through Nottinghamshire's batting line-up and then began pressing for victory on a day of domination in the First Division at the Rose Bowl.

Hampshire added just 56 runs, advancing to 401. Thereafter the County Championship high-flyers skittled Nottinghamshire for 147, with Dimitri Mascarenhas taking four top-order wickets. Hampshire then extended their lead to 402, closing on 148 for 1.

Dale Benkenstein hit a century to put Durham in front against Warwickshire at Edgbaston. He started the day on 21 and reached 144 as Durham posted 359. In their second innings, Warwickshire were 82 for 2, still 69 runs behind.

In the Second Division, Ben Smith and Graeme Hick pushed Worcestershire past the 600 mark with a record fourth-wicket stand of 330 against Somerset at Taunton. Hick was out for 182, his 99th Worcestershire century. Somerset were 199 for 3 by the close.

Centuries from Mark Butcher and Ally Brown gave Surrey the upper hand against Leicestershire at the Oval. The home side passed Leicestershire's 251 first-innings total with ease, piling up 416 for 4.

Derbyshire's unbeaten record was under threat against Glamorgan at Derby. Glamorgan closed their first innings on 470. The home side were struggling on 206 for 7, just 63 in front, at stumps.
