The all-conquering Godolphin team will aim to add another big- race success to their astonishing tally in Saturday's pounds 50,000 Celebration Mile at Goodwood.

Saeed bin Suroor, whose 10 British winners have yielded nearly pounds 1.5m and placed him at the top of the trainers' table, has three of the nine entries for the Group Two race in Darnay, Emperor Jones and Tamayaz.

Emperor Jones, winner of the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury last season when trained by John Gosden, is believed to be the most likely to run and will be having his first outing on British soil this year. He has won a handicap in Dubai and has twice raced in Japan. Emperor Jones finished third in the Celebration Mile in 1993 and was runner-up to Mehtaaf last year.

Mistle Cat, second in the race in 1993, may also run in the race for the third successive year. "He had a bad journey over to Germany last time and ran poorly," his trainer, Sean Woods, said, "but he has come out of it fine."

Harayir, the winner of the 1,000 Guineas who landed her first race since when taking the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury this month, is also set to run.

Her partner, Willie Carson, yesterday reached 100 winners for the 23rd season in the last 25 when he partnered Muktabas to victory at Nottingham. He failed to hit a century in 1984 after missing part of the season due to a heavy fall and registered only 87 successes last year.
