EVANDER HOLYFIELD TO RETIRE IN 1996
Boxing
Evander Holyfield says he will retire from boxing at the end of 1996, giving himself a year to try again for the world heavyweight title. Holyfield won the title in 1990 against Buster Douglas and again in 1993 by beating the holder, Riddick Bowe. One month ago he lost a non-title fight to Bowe but is preparing to return to the ring against anyone who will fight him.
