Uefa is to conduct its own inquiry into allegations of bribery after a meeting with the Portuguese Football Federation, whose chairman, Gilberto Madahil, handed over documents relating to charges that Porto sought to bribe a referee before a European Cup-Winners' Cup semi-final against Aberdeen 12 years ago.

Peterborough have signed the Stoke striker Martin Carruthers, with the fee to be decided by a tribunal.
