Argentina's Diego Maradona surges past Cafu, of Brazil, during a friendly in Buenos Aires. The match, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Argentina's football federation, ended 1-1. Maradona represented his country for the first time since the 1990 World Cup. He played skilfully, if a little slowly, in a fiercely contested encounter in which Argentina's Oscar Ruggieri and Brazil's Valdo were sent off.
