Youri Djorkaeff scored a dramatic winner as Internazionale came from behind to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season with a 3-2 win over Fiorentina at the San Siro yesterday.

The Frenchman, played on-side by a cruel deflection off a defender's legs, was put clear in the 81st minute by Salvatore Fresi and raced 20 metres for the goal. Ronaldo had given Inter a 43rd-minute lead only for the visitors to immediately equalise through Michele Serena and then edge in front with Gabriel Batistuta's sixth goal in three matches.

The champions Juventus continued the rich goal-scoring form they showed against Feyenoord in the Champions' League last week with a 4-0 victory over Brescia.

Lothar Matthaus, former captain of the German national team, snapped ligaments in his right ankle during Bayern Munich's 3-1 win at Cologne on Saturday and will need surgery that will keep him out of action for at least two months.

Ajax maintained their impressive 100 per cent Dutch league record when they won 4-1 at NEC Nijmegen yesterday. After six games, Ajax remain firmly on top with 18 points, four clear of Heerenveen.
