Wycombe Wanderers. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .2
AN ERROR 12 minutes from time by the Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Brian Parkin helped Wycombe to their first FA Cup win as a League side.
Rovers had dominated the second half and Parkin appeared in no trouble as he collected a back-pass from Worrell Sterling but his clearance went to the feet of the Wycombe winger Dave Carroll who took full advantage, slotting home the goal that put Wanderers into the second round.
Wanderers' defending, which eventually secured them their success, had been shambolic in the 25th minute when Lee Glover was allowed to drive through a defensive wall from 30 yards.
Wycombe equalised 10 minutes before the break when they capitalised on an error by Ian Wright. Rovers' centre-back slipped in challenging Carroll, allowing the right winger to cross to the far post, where Steve Guppy guided a volley against the crossbar and Kim Langford followed up to score.
Despite their second-half possession, Rovers rarely tested Hyde.
