Norwich City have signed the former England international David Rocastle on a month's loan from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who has been languishing in the reserves at Stamford Bridge this season, is expected to go straight into the Canaries side for Saturday's trip to Southend, with Andy Johnson struggling with a knee injury.

Norwich's manager, Mike Walker, has also gone back to his former club to give a trial to the Everton reserve defender Neil Moore, while the striker Ade Akinbiyi has completed his pounds 250,000 move to Second Division Gillingham after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical yesterday.

Bournemouth have called in administrators after a winding-up order over unpaid tax was delayed in the High Court. The Second Division club have debts of pounds 2.5m and owe pounds 231,000 in PAYE, but the court appearance in Liverpool was postponed after the club asked for more time.

Major shareholder Norman Hayward, one of only two remaining directors following the resignation of five others since Christmas, has put in pounds 250,000 in a bid to save the club.

The acting chairman, Brian Willis, admitted a Salisbury-based firm of accountants had been called in to act as administrators. He said: "We have to restructure the club's finances in the next few weeks and make ourselves more attractive to potential investors.

"We have spoken to three or four people who have shown interest in buying the club or investing in it, but we don't want to sell players.

"The directors have resigned because any new investor would want to bring in his own men."
