Aston Villa v West Ham United

Daley returns to Villa's team for the first time in nearly two months and Whittingham and Yorke are also in contention for a place on the left flank. West Ham's Holmes has recovered from a mystery virus infection and could play. His return comes as Burrows and Butler are ruled out because of knee operations.

Everton v Swindon Town

Angell goes straight into Everton's attack after his loan from Southend. Otherwise, new manager Walker kept his first-team selection close to his chest by naming a 16-man squad. Bodin, troubled by tendinitis in his right ankle, has been passed fit for Swindon who also have Scott and Nijholt available again.

Leeds United v Ipswich Town

Speed is back in the Leeds squad after damaging knee ligaments at West Ham on 8 December. Forrester keeps his place alongside Deane in attack. Ipswich are again without Kiwomya (foot injury) and the England Under-21 centre half Whelan misses out again with a groin problem. Veteran Wark has missed training with a groin strain, but is set to play.

Manchester City v Arsenal

Flitcroft could return after missing City's last four games with a knee injury while Rocastle plays against his old club. Selley, out of favour for the last five matches, has been added to Arsenal's squad. Wright will have a fitness check after a flu virus.

Norwich City v Chelsea

New manager Deehan looks set to name an unchanged side for his first selection, although Prior and Johnson are added to a 15-man squad. There are no places for Polston and Goss, who began their comebacks in the reserves after injury. Myers is back in the Chelsea squad after a five-month absence with a hamstring problem. He and Kjeldbjerg are added to the squad but skipper Wise is missing again with a knee injury and Hopkin is also unfit.

Oldham Athletic v Liverpool

Thomas has battled his way back into the Liverpool squad almost a year after rupturing ankle ligaments against Bolton. Bjornebye will deputise for Wright, who has a groin strain. Norwegian defender Halle will be out for at least six weeks and will undergo a cartilage operation.

Sheffield United v Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn are without Berg, who is with Norway on an American tour, and Newell (knee injury). Dalglish is likely to switch May to full-back and bring Marker into the centre of defence. Sheffield also lose Flo and Nilsen to Norwegian duty.

Southampton v Coventry City

Southampton's Benali starts a three- match suspension while Reid has not recovered from ankle trouble. Morgan (thigh muscle) becomes Coventry's sixth player on the injury list and Williams takes his place at left-back.

Tottenham v Manchester United

Spurs are without goalkeeper Thorstvedt and midfielder Dozzell. Walker takes over from Thorstvedt who is on tour in the United States with Norway, while Dozzell (ankle) will be replaced by Hazard. Edinburgh (ankle) and Campbell (severe cramp) have recovered from knocks. Ince has recovered from a stomach bug and is back for Manchester United and will replace Robson. Keane is also set to return.

Wimbledon v Sheffield Wednesday

Strikers Holdsworth (stomach strain) and Fashanu (knee) are doubtful for Wimnbledon. Wednesday goalkeeper Woods has suffered a new groin problem and is also out so third-choice keeper Key is on stand-by to deputise for Pressman. Waddle, Worthington and Nilsson are still injured while left- back Coleman may be playing his last game for the club after his loan from Derby.
