Brighton host Manchester City on Saturday evening in the Premier League, a meeting of two clubs in the top four - one rather more surprising than the other at this stage. The Seagulls have impressed and lost just once so far in the league, though face a big task to keep the reigning champions at bay. Pep Guardiola’s outfit are third, just above their hosts, and have the top flight’s joint-best defensive record at this stage.
City were in action in midweek in the Champions League and produced what the manager termed one of their best European performances of his tenure, thrashing Club Brugge and scoring five goals in the process. Prior to that it was an easy win over Burnley in the league last week, making it seven unbeaten in that competition since the opening day of the campaign.
The two managers did clash last season, but Graham Potter says he apologised and doesn’t expect it to be a factor when they meet again, hoping for a “cuddle” from his opposite number. Follow all the live updates and action as Brighton host Manchester City below:

Grealish receives the ball as it comes over the top and tries to take on Veltman. He shows a bit too much to the defender though and Veltman knocks the ball behind with a well-timed tackle.

72 mins: Brighton have shown guts after that first half. They’ve taken the game to City but just can’t find a goal. Moder once again flicks a nice ball into the area as Mwepu loses his marker. He looks to volley the dropping ball at goal but misses it as he looks away and City tidy up.

March has his back to goal and Dias prods it away. Walker and Trossard tussle over the loose ball with Walker winning the battle after a push in his back earns City a free kick.

66 mins: Moder’s making a strong case for being Brighton’s best player today. He brings the ball down the left side before cutting inside, shimmying around Dias and having a shot deflected behind for a corner.

Trossard takes the ball and smokes one at Ederson and the goalkeeper palms the ball into the ground and it bounces wide of the far post!

60 mins: Brighton are making a better show of it now and Graham Potter decides to make a double change. Maupay and Burn are off with Enock Mwepu and Tariq Lamptey coming on.
