Emotional Andrea Pirlo was in tears at the final whistle after Juventus lost in the Champions League final to Barcelona. He is out of contract with the Italian side this summer and is expected to move to New York FC.
The Juventus legend, 36, has "accepted" a proposal from the new club, according to Spanish newspaper AS, having spoken to the club's CEO Ferran Soriano.
Should a move go through, he will join former England and Chelsea man Frank Lampard at the club, as well as former Spain and Barcelona striker David Villa.
The paper report that New York City had also been interested in a move for midfielder Xavi, who has chosen a move to Qatar with Al Saad instead. Xavi came in on the 79th minute to make his final appearance for Barca in the game.
