Yesterday was a great day on the continent for goal celebrations.

In Portugal Luis Nani's screamer for Sporting Lisbon was so good he cried, whilst in Italy Antonio Candreva could have been forgiven for opening the waterworks as well - only for a very different reason.

Like Nani, Candreva found the top corner with a belting shot but his celebration was more exuberant. The Lazio striker hopped over the hoardings and ran towards the fans behind the goal at the Stadio Olimpico but then slipped at the crucial moment and fell into a metal barrier.

Having appeared to hurt his knee, the 27-year-old had to be substituted a few minutes later.

Lazio head coach Stefan Pioli will have been delighted with Candreva's goal, which earned the Rome side a 2-1 win over Palermo, but he's likely to have been furious with his player's celebration - particularly if it means he misses any games through injury.
