Atletico Madrid head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has dismissed continuing rumours of a disagreement between himself and Uruguay striker Diego Forlan.
The 31-year-old started the new campaign with six goals in six games, but has since gone 12 games without a goal, amid rumours of a move to Italy to join Juventus and a possible falling-out with Flores.
Flores commented: “There are days when I do not read the press. I learned this news when I came into the dressing room and did not give it any importance.
“I will not deny things that have not even occurred. My relationship with Diego is super-normal.
“When Diego has recovered, we will all be super-happy and will stop talking about things that do not exist.”
Atletico chairman Enrique Cerezo also dismissed talk of a problem between Flores and Forlan, adding: “Every time there is something, I have never had a problem talking about it.
“In the case of Forlan, nothing happened, we don't know anything.
“There is no problem between Quique and Forlan. Their relationship is perfect. When he starts scoring goals, no-one will say any more.”
