STAR MAN

Kolo Toure - The veteran defender was a leader at the back and put in a commanding performance, but it was not the player Liverpool would have wanted to have had the best performance.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Daniel Sturridge's fluffed shot from six yards out early in the second half. A striker of his quality should have buried it.

VIEW FROM THE BENCH

Klopp, still less than two weeks after an operation to remove his appendix, was a less animated and visible figure than usual. He had few game-changers among his substitutes and could possibly have given Jordon Ibe longer than nine minutes.

MOAN OF THE MATCH

The lack of genuine chances a virtually full-strength side created against a team struggling in the Bundesliga.
