Barcelona have suffered a second injury blow following their Copa del Rey defeat on Wednesday night, with confirmation that full-back Jordi Alba is set to be sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Alba will likely miss the majority of Barca's run-in to the end of the season as they aim to reel in the four-point gap behind Primera Division leaders Atletico Madrid.

The news comes a day after Neymar was ruled out for four weeks after sustaining a left foot injury in the 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the Mestalla.

Alba confirmed the bad news, which is set to sideline him for three weeks, on his Instagram page, writing: "Confirmed my injury, I hope to return soon.

"We get up and return stronger. Thanks to the fans for the support!"
