Binya given six-match ban for Brown tackle

The Benfica midfielder Augustin Binya has been banned for six European matches for a tackle on Celtic's Scott Brown in a Champions League match.

Binya, who was shown a red card, will miss matches at home to Milan on 28 November and at Shakhtar Donetsk on 4 December. The Cameroonian can appeal Uefa's decision within three days of receiving written reasoning.

Birmingham City have said reports that the brother of their midfielder Wilson Palacios has been released by kidnappers in Honduras are "premature".

Fifteen-year-old Edwin Palacios was abducted a fortnight ago. Although the situation is believed to be close to being resolved, Edwin is still to be released.

Cardiff City's board have been told to repay debts owed to the Swiss-based Langston Corporation or hand over control of the club.

The club's main financial backers initiated High Court proceedings in August, seeking repayment of a reported £24m in loan-notes taken during Sam Hammam's reign at Ninian Park.
