Calum Chambers named man of the match for second game in a row as Arsenal defender continues to make quick impact

The defender has settled quickly since his £16m switch from Southampton

Calum Chambers continues to impress since his switch from Southampton to Arsenal, with the youngster making his Champions League bow last night.

The defender, who cost the Gunners £16m, was selected as man of the match by Arsenal fans on Twitter after the 0-0 draw with Besiktas, according to Arsenal's official Twitter account.

It was the second game in a row that the 19-year-old was picked as the stand-out player by fans of the Gunners, with Chambers impressing in the 2-1 Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend.

The impressive start by Chambers to life at the Emirates has provided manager Arsene Wenger with a dilemma over whether to enter the market again for a central defender. After the sale of Thomas Vermaelen, Wenger said he was keen to bring in someone new. However, the Arsenal boss may now consider that he is adequately covered.

Chambers appears to be revelling in his new surroundings.

As the team headed out to Turkey, the England Under-19 international tweeted a picture from the plane.

After the game, he again took to social media.

The second-leg of the Champions League play-off against Besiktas will be played at the Emirates on Wednesday.
