Manchester United will take on the Champions League holders Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, after the draw was made in Nyon today. Chelsea face French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

In what has been a torrid first full season in charge at Old Trafford for David Moyes, having no chance of retaining the Premier League, knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round, and out of the League Cup in the semi-final, the Champions League has been the only positive Moyes can take. A thrilling 3-0 victory over Olympiakos on Wednesday night saw them over turn a two-goal defect to progress.

Munich eased past United's Premier League rivals Arsenal in the round of last-16, and last played United in the competition in the quarter-finals in 2009/10, the German side progressing on away goals after the tie ended 4-4 on aggregate.

One of the finest victories in the history of United came against Munich in the Champions League, don't forget. Alex Ferguson's side capped a miraculous late comeback to win 2-1 in the final at the Nou Camp to lift the trophy in 1999.

Chelsea had defeated Galatasaray in convincing fashion in the last round, but will face far stronger opposition now - the Ligue 1 leaders featuring the mercurial talent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic plus Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani.

The Blues have only ever met PSG in two European matches before, coming in the Champions League group stage in 2004/05, Chelsea winning 3-0 away and drawing 0-0 at home.

Full quarter-final draw

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund

Paris Saint-Gemain v Chelsea

Manchester United v Bayern Munich

Ties to be played April 1/2
