Gareth Bale scored his first goal in the Champions League for Real Madrid, but the Spanish side still lost their 100 per cent record in Group B as they were held 2-2 by Juventus.
Real were trailing 1-0 at half-time in Turin to Arturo Vidal’s penalty but inevitably Cristiano Ronaldo turned things around. The Portuguese winger equalised in the 52rd minute and eight minutes later set up Bale for a neat left-foot finish from the edge of the area to give Real the lead.
Fernando Llorente punished some slack marking by heading Juve level soon after and neither side could then find a winner.
Juventus still slipped to the bottom of the group as Roberto Mancini’s Galatasaray were surprisingly beaten by FC Copenhagen, Norwegian winger Daniel Braaten flicking home a cross in the sixth minute to earn the home side a 1-0 win.
In Group C, Olympiakos took a big stride towards reaching the last 16 by beating Benfica 1-0. Kostas Manolas’s header gave them an early advantage which they held on to thanks to several inspired saves from Roberto.
Paris St-Germain gave up their perfect start in the group by drawing 1-1 at home to 10-man Anderlecht who they beat 5-0 two weeks ago. Zlatan Ibrahimovic got PSG’s goal.
