Champions' League round-up: Kanouté strikes early to set Seville on way to easy victory

Seville took all three points from their Champions League Group H match last night after beating Slavia Prague 4-2 at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.

The Spanish side took the lead with an early goal by Frédéric Kanouté, following up with goals from Luis Fabiano, Julian Escude and Arouna Koné. Slavia Prague's replies came from a 19th-minute goal by Daniel Pudil and a late strike from David Kalivoda.

Elsewhere, Sporting Lisbon beat their hosts, Dynamo Kiev, 2-1 in Group F with all the goals coming in the first half. Sporting took the lead with a goal from Tonel in the opening 15 minutes before Kiev replied with a Vladyslav Vaschuk goal on the half-hour. Kiev were to be denied a win though, after Anderson Polga fired home in the 38th minute.

Carles Puyol and Lionel Messi both scored second-half goals to give Barcelona a 2-0 away victory over Stuttgart in Group E. Puyol came on as a substitute early in the second half and scored the first goal in the 53rd minute. Messi completed the victory in the 14 minutes later.

In Group G CSKA Moscow were held 2-2 by Fenerbahce and Internazionale beat PSV Eindhoven 2-0 despite having Cristian Chivu sent off. Both Inter's goals came from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
