Branislav Ivanovic is the only nod to the Premier League in the Champions League squad of the season after a disappointing year in Europe for English sides.

Uefa are set to reveal who makes up their 18-man side in which victors Barcelona predictably and rightly dominate with 10 players.

All three of their star-studded attack of Lionel, Luis Suarez and Messi Neymar - dubbed MSN - make it into the squad.

Beaten finalists Juventus are the next best represented with five players, including their scorer in the 3-1 final in Berlin, Alvaro Morata.

Semi-finalists Real Madrid have two players in the squad, including Cristiano Ronaldo who ended the competition as joint top scorer on 10 goals with Neymar and Messi.

No players from the other beaten semi-finalists, Bayern Munich, make it into the side, making Ivanovic's appearance all the more surprising. The squad was selected by a five-man panel of Uefa technical observers.

The 18-man Uefa Champions League squad of the season...

The Serbian scored a memorable away goal crafted by Chelsea's defenders against PSG, but the Blues were to ultimately be beaten by their French opponents and exit the competition at the Last-16 stage. They and the other three representatives from the Premier League - Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal - failed to reach the last eight of the competition.
