Cristiano Ronaldo warned Real Madrid's fans not to whistle him after firing them to the brink of another Champions League final.

The Portuguese was at his brilliant best to ruthlessly punish Atletico Madrid with a hat-trick in Tuesday's semi-final first leg at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo has been subjected to a barrage of whistles from his own supporters at times this season and jn the wake of his hat-trick heroics the 32-year-old has called on those doing so to stop.

"I repeat once, I just want you not to whistle me," he told MEGA. "I'll try to give the best as always."

Ronaldo scored all three goals as the holders but one foot in the final in Cardiff but the man of the match was keen to share the adulation with his teammates.

"The team has been tremendous. It was my turn to score the goals, but the team was phenomenal," he added.

"It was a perfect match, we have a good advantage, but it's not over. Atletico are very good, but we must be careful on Wednesday."

While Ronaldo stole the headlines Zinedine Zidane was happy with the performance of his whole team.

"Cristiano is a goalscorer. He is unique. All the players were brilliant," he said. "I am lucky to have these players. We try to play our football and enjoy ourselves. It works because we have great players with great attitudes.

"We knew what we had to do from the off and we played the game we wanted to. Today Isco played as a number 10 and was fantastic. We then had width with (substitutes) (Lucas) Vazquez and (Marco) Asensio. In a defensive sense we were brilliant too."

Zidane continued: "I am happy with what I am doing here and with the players, we played a great game. We can hurt any side with our weapons.

"We started well, the first half-hour was fantastic, and we were clinical with our chances.

"We interpreted the game very well. It is not easy to score three times against such a difficult side and keep a clean sheet."
