Cristiano Ronaldo junior gives his father the middle finger at European Golden Shoe ceremony

The Real Madrid forward's son has been hoarding all the attention of late

Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Jr., has been attracting more headlines than his attention-hungry father recently.

On Monday, the Real Madrid forward released a snippet from the upcoming documentary about his life, Ronaldo, which showed him becoming frustrated with the youngster's attempt to say his name.

Then, on Tuesday night, as his father was accepting the European Golden Shoe award and paying tribute to his young family, Cristiano Jr. appeared to raise his middle finger in the direction of his dad.

Another family member was quickly on hand to grab the child's hand and obscure his gesture, but not before it was captured by the cameras broadcasting the ceremony.

The European Golden Shoe recognises the top scorer in Europe's domestic leagues, with the Portuguese forward's total of 48 goals in 35 La Liga games last season coming top of the pile continent-wide.

It was the fourth time that Cristiano Ronaldo Sr. has won the award, having won his first with Manchester United in 2007-08.

In his acceptance speech he thanked those who support him, including Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who was in attendance at the event.

"I want to thank everybody who has come here; the Portuguese ambassador, my manager, my president, the institution of Real Madrid, the fans," Ronaldo said.

"This is a beautiful moment in my sporting life. Receiving a fourth Golden Boot in an honour and a privilege.

"This trophy is very important for me and I want to thank my team-mates and all the people who have helped me. It's a special moment.

"I'm not satisfied yet though; I still want to be more. I want a fifth and a sixth if it is possible. I know it will be difficult."

Ronaldo also took the opportunity to spur on his Real teammates after a disappointing overall campaign last year.

Carlo Ancelotti, who won the club's tenth Champions League title in 2014, failed to build on the previous season's success and claim a trophy in his second season with the club.

The Italian has since left and been replaced by Rafael Benitez, who has guided Real to second place in La Liga after nine game, one point behind leaders Barcelona.

"We want to win the league, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey," Ronaldo said. "We'll see each other again next year, I hope."
