Europa League round-up: Late show from Wood clinches Birmingham win
Roared on by more than 5,000 of their fans who had made the trip over to Belgium, Birmingham City left it late to beat Club Bruges 2-1, 19-year-old striker Chris Wood hitting the winner in the 10th minute of injury time. Victory puts Chris Hughton's side joint top of their group and came after a long delay in the second half for treatment to defender Pablo Ibañez, who was knocked unconscious. "We've had two results today," Hughton said. "One is the scoreline and the other is the fact he [Ibañez] is OK."
The Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, was happy with a point from their 1-1 draw at Rennes, Joe Ledley's 70th-minute header cancelling out Cha Du-ri's freak own goal when the Celtic defender had put a back pass beyond keeper Fraser Forster. "It would have been a real shame having played so well to lose a game with the goal we conceded," Lennon said.
