Gareth Bale is keen to establish himself as the main-man at Real Madrid but it looks like he might face an uphill struggle after failing to even get the attention of one his team-mates.

The Wales international looked to congratulate Toni Kroos for the midfielder's performance in the pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last night.

As Kroos was substituted off the pitch in the 72nd minute, Bale extended his hand out for the German World Cup winner to tag. Only Kroos, seemingly unintentionally, walked straight past the world's most expensive player without any sort of acknowledgement.

Any suggestions of division among Rafa Benitez's ranks was quelled before it could even get started when later in the evening, Bale made light of the situation on the flight back to Spain by tweeting a picture of himself and Kroos completing a successful high-five.

Real Madrid lost the match to Bayern Munich 1-0 after Robert Lewandowski scored a late winner, meaning Pep Guardiola's side lifted the Audi Cup.
