Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has denied Jose Mourinho is under pressure following the defeat at Barcelona.

The Nerazzurri slumped to their first defeat in this season's Champions League, falling 2-0 at the Nou Camp to put their hopes of progressing in Europe in jeopardy.

Reports in the Italian press today claimed coach Mourinho's job is on the line.

But when asked if the Portuguese coach was in danger of losing his job, Moratti said on the club4s official website, www.inter.it: "Absolutely not. I spoke to him yesterday and there is no problem whatsoever.

"The same trust continues.

"He will certainly analyse the game and he will have to do it from the point of view of the players and of tactics.

"In any case, it will be him (Mourinho) to do this.

"But we have full confidence in someone who has proved so far to respond to this trust."

Mourinho, who guided Inter to the Serie A title in his first season in charge last term, when the team also struggled in Europe, has mustered just one win in the Champions League the second time around with the club. Inter have also drawn three matches.

Moratti was critical of Mourinho's players.

He said: "I am disappointed because we practically remained in Milan. It was a useless trip.

"I think we witnessed our players losing themselves and this is something I would judge.

"This nevertheless does not cancel out the good performances seen in other games, the continued growth of the team and that we are enjoying a great season.

"We just played a terrible game at the wrong time."

Inter currently hold a five-point advantage over Juventus at the top of Serie A, while in Europe they are second in Group F, level on six points with next opponents Rubin Kazan and two points behind Barcelona heading into the final pool game.
