AC Milan have handed veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi a contract extension which ties him to the club until 2010.
Just 24 hours after the 35-year-old revealed his intention to play on for another season, the Rossoneri moved swiftly to tie him down to a longer deal.
Inzaghi was out of contract at the end of the current campaign but will now extend his seven-year stay at the San Siro.
"AC Milan would like to announce the contract extension of Filippo Inzaghi until June 2010," confirmed a club statement.
Inzaghi joined Milan in 2001 from Juventus and has netted three goals in six appearances so far this season.
The veteran frontman had earlier told the Corriere Dello Sport: "I have no intention to quit, I feel fine and I am always scoring and I still have the will to train hard. My deal expires in June, but (vice-president) Adriano Galliani told me that I am like Paolo Maldini and that I can renew whenever I want for another year."
