Legia Warsaw supporters hit out at Uefa for booting them out of Champions League with striking banner

Polish side were ejected from the competition for fielding ineligible player

Legia Warsaw supporters hit out at Uefa for booting them out of the Champions League with this striking banner during their 2-0 Europa League win over Kazakh side Aktobe last night.

The Polish side were shockingly dumped out of the Champions League by Uefa - after their 6-1 aggregate victory over Celtic earlier this month - after it was discovered Warsaw had briefly fielded an ineligible player against the Scottish champions.

The giant banner featured a huge pig in the centre of the Uefa logo with the words: "6<1. Because football doesn’t matter. Money does."

The word money was coloured in the green and white hoop of Celtic.

Celtic were reinstated in their place, although failed to make it through to the group stages after losing 2-1 on aggregate to the Slovenian side Maribor in their play-off.
