Liverpool received the news on Monday that Gareth Bale will miss the Champions League clash between the Reds and Real Madrid, but they still face the task of trying to stop Cristiano Ronaldo amid the forward’s incredible run of form.

Ronaldo has scored 20 goals this season for club and country, and has found the back of the net in his last 10 appearances having not failed to score since the Spanish Super Cup defeat to Atletico in August.

But do Liverpool need to even worry about the Portuguese superstar? Not if history has anything to do with it.

In fact, Ronaldo has not scored at Anfield in his previous five visits to the home of Liverpool FC, which dates back to when he joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon.

Liverpool are up against it to qualify from their Champions League, having lost to Basle last time out. They did manage to beat Ludogorets in their Group B opener, but they will need to get something out of their home tie against the defending champions to ensure they are not up against it to reach the last-16 come December.
