Manchester United fans were left calling for Louis van Gaal to be sacked after witnessing one of the club's most embarrassing ever defeats.

The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Danish side Midtjylland in the first leg of their Round of 32 Europa League meeting.

The Premier League side had been expected to cruise past the Danish minnows, however they may feel fortunate to have departed Scandinavia with the tie as closely balanced as it is.

Memphis Depay opened the scoring but the visiting team then saw Sisto equalise just before half-time before Paul Onuachu struck the winner.

The travelling fans made their feelings about the performance clear, while those at home voiced their anger on Twitter.
