Manuel Pellegrini has made four changes to his Manchester City team from the side who thrashed Newcastle 5-0 on Saturday for tonight's Champions League round of 16 tie against Barcelona, including bringing in Martin Demichelis for Eliaquim Mangala.

Elsewhere, James Milner comes in for the suspended Yaya Toure, Fernando replaces Fernandinho and Gael Clichy starts ahead of Aleksandar Kolarov.

For Barcelona, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all start up front, with veteran playmaker Xavi dropping to the bench.

The omens do not look good for City, Barcelona have reached the quarter-final in each of their last seven seasons.


City captain Vincent Kompany, thought, has said his team do not "fear" the Spanish giants.

"We want to play against them. You don't go in at this level fearing strikers," said the Belgium defender. "They're a special team with special players, but there's nothing new to worry us, it's a case of having the whole team at a very high level.
