Olivier Giroud says 'I have not committed adultery!' on Twitter after saying sorry to wife and Arsenal supporters

Striker allegedly sneaked model Celia Kay into team hotel before Crystal Palace game

After apologising to his wife and team-mates for reportedly sneaking a lingerie model into the team hotel the night before the 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace earlier this month, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has taken to Twitter again to clarify the situation regarding the alleged affair, stating that he did not commit adultery.

"Yes I made a mistake but not I have not committed adultery! Things are clear," the 27-year-old wrote last night.

Giroud first issued a public apology at the weekend after a picture emerged of him in the team hotel with model Celia Kay in The Sun on Sunday. The Frenchman said sorry to wife Jennifer - who gave birth to his son Paul last June - as well as his family, friends, team-mates and Gunners' supporters, writing: "I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans."

"I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment."

His manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that the club are dealing with the matter. "It's an internal matter but I do not want to comment publicly because I respect his privacy."

Kay works as a model and has appeared in such magazines as Maxim and FHM, and she was pictured arriving at the hotel at 12.50am on the morning of the Palace match, before leaving at 3.04am the same morning.

She also claimed that the couple did not have sex, but slammed him for his previous denial that anything had happened between the pair, claiming if he is “big enough to do the crime, he’s got to serve the time”.

Model Celia Kay told The Sun on Sunday about her visit to the Arsenal team hotel

"Olivier knows the truth and the fact that he lied about us is pathetic,"she told the Sun on Sunday.

"He’s just digging a bigger hole for himself. If he is big enough to do the crime, he’s got to serve the time."
