Philippe Coutinho: Jamie Carragher forgives 'Brazilian f*****' after trolling him during Man Utd vs Liverpool tie

The Liverpool forward found the back of the net at Old Trafford just before half-time

Jamie Carragher was forced to forgive Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian scored what promised to be a crucial away goal in the crunch Europa League meeting between Manchester United and Liverpool.

United were leading 1-0 and looked the most likely to score next when Coutinho intervened. The Brazilian picked the ball up on the left wing, skipped past Guillermo Varela as though he wasn't there and then remained calm to beat David De Gea at his front post.

It put Liverpool 3-1 ahead on aggregate in the Round of 16 tie and left United needing to score three more due to the away goals rule.

However, prior to Coutinho's moment of brilliance, Liverpool great Carragher had been trolling the Liverpool player.

He wrote: "Stupid ball by Coutinho," midway through the first half.

When Coutinho scored, Carragher was quick to make amends.

"All is forgiven you little Brazilian f****r," wrote Carragher, complete with a kiss emoji.
