Cristiano Ronaldo reached a century of goals for Real Madrid as the Spanish side eased to a 2-0 victory against Lyons and sealed qualification to the round of sixteen.
José Mourinho's side were meeting Lyons for the 10th time in six seasons, and after failing to win any of the first seven of those games, have now won the latest three without conceding.
Ronaldo opened the scoring with a customary free-kick at the Stade de Garland, his 13th of the season and Real's 900th in European football. The Portuguese hit the three-figure mark after the break, scoring from the penalty spot in his 105th game for Real.
Ajax strengthed their hold on second behind Real in Group D, thrashing Dynamo Zagreb 4-0 with goals from Gregory van der Wiel, Miralem Sulejmani, Siem de Jong and Nicolas Lodeiro.
In Group B, Internazionale, fielding the oldest Champions League starting XI with an average age of 31 years and 317 days, beat Joe Cole's Lille 2-1 at San Siro. Centre-back Walter Samuel headed the opener on 18 minutes before Diego Milito added a second with his first European goal of the season. Tulio de Melo grabbed a late consolation for Lille.
