Paris Saint Germain have called for Bastia striker Brandao to be banned from football for life after he was caught on camera appearing to headbutt Italian international Thiago Motta in the tunnel on Saturday after PSG's 2-0 victory. The incident left Motta with a suspected broken nose.
Nasser al-Khelaifi, president of the French champions, told a Canal Plus TV reporter that his club would be registering a complaint against the 34-year-old striker Brandao, who Motta had been marking all game. The video shows Brandao quickly running away after the altercation with the PSG player.
Al-Khelaifi added that the Brazilian should be "suspended for life... he is not a football player".
"This is very serious," he said. "It cannot be overlooked. It gives football a very bad image. I hope the Bastia player who did this will be very seriously punished. It is a landmark moment and requires a heavy penalty. This is not football.
"Our role is to protect the players, and when Thiago Motta is attacked like this, we must act. I am very upset."

PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu added: "Everyone saw what happened. The video will confirm it and inevitably there will be sanctions. This is what we want. It ruined the match."
The incident overshadowed PSG's first league victory of the season after the early loss of talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic."
The Sweden striker, last season's Ligue 1 Player of the Year, was forced off with a leg injury in the 15th minute but Laurent Blanc's team still managed to control the game.
Brazilian Lucas Moura opened the scoring after 26 minutes when he pounced on a cross from Gregory van der Wiel and made no mistake from close range.
PSG's Edinson Cavani looked sharp in attack throughout and he made it 2-0 after 57 minutes, taking a pass near the penalty spot with his back to goal and swivelling gracefully to give PSG four points from their first two games of the campaign.
Brandao has not yet commented on the incident.Reuse content
