Thierry Henry hit out at Javier Hernandez last night the Mexican scored the winning goal in Real Madrid's 1-0 victory over rivals Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, saying that the striker should have turned around and celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo, not gone off and celebrated on his own "like he won the World Cup".

The on loan Manchester United striker scored the only goal of the tie in the 88th minute to secure Real's progression to the semi-finals.

The Arsenal great Henry, however, was less than impressed with Hernandez's emotional celebration, as he thought he should have immediately turned around to thank Ronaldo for the pass, instead of running away on his own.

The 26-year-old, who has scored six goals for the club in a struggling loan spell this season, had tapped in from close range after some fine work from the Portuguese forward.

Hernandez, known as "Chicharito" was then seen crying at the end of the match.

"I don't know about his future there," Henry said during his punditry duty for Sky Sports. "To be fair to him he doesn't usually play.

"Tonight was his opportunity and we don't even know if he's going to play after that.”

“He had a couple of chances in the game before that but I can tell you he can thank Ronaldo tonight.

"I know he went on to celebrate alone and everything but he can thank Ronaldo. For me, he has to.

“That is, for me, Ronaldo's goal. What I don't like after [the goal] is it seems like he won the World Cup [with his celebration]. Turn around and celebrate with Ronaldo."
