Chelsea 2 PSG 2 - Thierry Henry analysis: PSG deserved to win both legs. Marco Verratti bossed the midfield

PSG drew 2-2 to dump Chelsea out of the Champions League

Theirry Henry was full of praise for PSG after they knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League tonight after a 2-2 draw in the Last-16 at Stamford Bridge, saying that they were the better team in both legs, and singled out midfielder Marco Verratti in particular for his performance.

"PSG deserved to win in Paris, and they deserved to win in London too," Henry said in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports.

"Verratti bossed the midfield."

Henry also added that it was a "wonderful" night for David Luiz, who scored a bullet header against his former team to  bring to the tie to extra-time.

The first leg was drawn 1-1 and Chelsea's advantage grew when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was harshly sent off after 31 minutes.

Gary Cahill's strike nine minutes from the end of normal time was cancelled out by former Chelsea defender David Luiz, but the hosts went ahead for a second time through an Eden Hazard penalty early in extra-time.

PSG captain Thiago Silva, who conceded the spot-kick for handball, was denied from a corner by Thibaut Courtois but then netted with a header moments later to make it 2-2 on the night and send the visitors through.

The Frenchmen exited the competition last term to Chelsea on the away goals rule, but advanced to the last eight for a third straight season.

Jose Mourinho and Chelsea, meanwhile, are left to focus on their Premier League title bid.
